A Teardrops Travels
Sorrow so deep it draws out the soul
Concentrated pain in the of a teardrop
Slowly meandering across my eye
Shivering down my sobbing face
How I wish I could find the strength to wipe it away
But I watch as it drops to the sodden floor
Soaked up in the dust and dirt and grime
That lone teardrop shattered and scattered amongst the debris
Through days it sits there
Each passing moment pulling it away
Is each portion of this package of grief now tied together for its life
Is each molecule scarred for life with the images ripped from my mind
What marvelous path shall it travel in time
Shall it drift slowly into the sky
And see all the world with a birds eye
Many mysterious places I shall never see
Freer than I shall ever be
Mixed within a mass of millions of similar things
Yet only this one born of degradation
Shall it be shunned aside and left alone
Shall it be incorporated into a vast ocean
And shall it someday be part of a storm
Shall it fall with more vengeance then all others
Shall it someday land upon a much older and worn me
Will it feel it is home
Will it know me
Will it sense that the pain from whence it was spawned still resides
Will I have time to hear its stories before again it departs
Shall I thirst upon it and now make it part of my heart
Will this journey never end
How one sad teardrop becomes my friend
